It is not uncommon for a person to feel unhappy or uncomfortable in certain periods of life. And, that is nothing to worry about. It is both natural and normal in the 21st century. Our society may have evolved to a higher level, but humans still have a long way to go. However, just because it is natural, does not mean that you have to succumb to it. Instead, you can use many of the popular techniques and ways you can make positive changes in your life to finally feel happy again.
However, it is important to remember that many of these techniques are not some magical solutions that are going to fix your life. Instead, think of these solutions as guidance that can help you become happier and more comfortable in the situation on your end.
Either way, we are going to list some of the most commonly used and most effective techniques that can make positive changes in your life with the hope that this article will help you.
1. Understand what needs to be changed
Whatever you plan to achieve or whatever it is you want to feel, there is one thing you have to do to start adding more positive things in life. That thing that you have to do is accept things that change is inevitable, but also understanding exactly what needs to be changed.
Sometimes, the situations, moments, hobbies, or people where you feel most comfortable may be the things you need to change your life to start feeling happier. Yes, it is going to be very difficult to get rid of such moments that make you feel comfortable, but if you do not do it now, it may get worse and worse over time.
To figure out exactly what or who has such a large impact in your life, you may have to sit down for a moment and think about it. Think about which of the things you do actually have a positive impact on your life.
For example, sweets, chocolate, or fast food satisfies our brains, gets rid of hunger and we feel happy while eating. But, that rush of dopamine can last only for a few minutes or an hour maximum. It does not make us feel good in the grand scheme of things. In fact, such an unhealthy diet will have a negative impact on the mind. If you take care of your body, your body will take care of your mind.
Keep in mind, this was just one universal example that happens pretty often to a lot of people. That does not mean that this has to be a problem in your situation.
2. Start exercising
In my previous point, I gave diet as an example because it is something that a lot of people suffer from in the 21st century. With everyone being so busy working, taking care of their family, etc., it can be almost impossible to find that time to hold onto a healthy diet, and even more difficult to find time for exercising.
However, the fact is that there is always time for everything. At the moment, it might seem like you are overwhelmed and like you cannot even find a second for yourself, but there is always time if you put enough effort to find it.
Exercise is one of the most important, if not the most important actions in your life that can make you feel positive about yourself in every single way. If you were to talk to doctors, nutritionists, professionals, or if you were to listen to the ChainlessLife podcast, you will notice that everyone talks about the importance of exercising.
It is essential, no matter at which point of your life your end. If you are in your 20s, 30s, 40s, or even 60s, exercise is going to help you break away from that monotony.
As you develop your endurance and strength, you will have a lot more energy throughout the day and will do the things that need to be done.
Of course, exercising one fixes all of your problems, but it is a great place to start.
3. Start getting rid of all the negative things in your life
Understanding the changes that need to take place and exercising are one of the steps you must take to be happier. But, now comes the most difficult part. The part where you have to start getting rid of all the negative things, all of the toxic relations syrups, etc. that are holding you back in your life.
This can mean lifelong friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, or even family members. Of course, you will need to be very careful when making decisions. Getting rid of someone important in your life that wants to help you is never a good idea.
To avoid getting yourself in such a situation, it is best to take a moment and analyze those people around you. See what exactly they bring into your life, what you bring into theirs, and how they make you feel.
I am not saying this is going to be easy. It is going to take time and it is going to be very difficult, but it may have to be done if you want to bring those positive changes and keep them.
Keep in mind, this does not mean that you have to get rid of the negative people in your surroundings. There is the possibility that there is no such person in your life. It is up to you to decide whether this step of the process will be necessary.
4. Selflessness
You cannot expect people to be positive towards you if you are not positive towards them. Selflessness, helpfulness, kindness, and other similar traits are one of the most effective ways to find people that are going to be positive around you.
There are a lot more techniques we can talk about that are much more complicated and effective, but I believe these are the techniques that you have to start with. It is very important to start slow and then progressing towards more effective methods to become happy.
