If you are anything like me you have been through so many headsets it is embarrassing. I’ve bought and tried pretty much every major brand and the one thing I’ve noticed is that there seems to be a high correlation between the price and the likelihood that I will break them or even lose them (yep, this has happened).
The more money I spend it seems the shorter the lifespan. I know that makes no sense, but that’s my experience. Not for nothing, that is also my experience with sunglasses…but that’s a story for another time.
As a result of this unfortunate state of affairs, I’ve become something of a connoisseur of headsets in the sub $100Â category, and in fact, I’ve become quite fond of trying those options in the under $50 range too. So in this article, I’m going to take you down the rabbit hole of cheap gaming headsets from Aliexpress and share some of my favorites.
Best Gaming Headsets Under $100
I want to start with the under $100 price range because there is some good stuff here. I’ve included the main technical specs for each model in the interests of side-by-side comparison, though to be honest they are all pretty close in terms of specs.
I think it more comes down to aesthetics (yes, this is important!) and other non-technical features like having a long cable (I can’t stand a short headset cable) and comfort. You can’t truly test comfort without actually trying them on…I mean I have an opinion, but your head is certainly a different shape and size from mine so my opinion on comfort isn’t that useful 🙂

Always clean and highly spiced they are a reliable and trustworthy workhorse of a a product. I must admit I had trouble with a wireless Logitech headset I had, but that is a sample of one, and at this price point we are looking at the wired variety anyway. I don’t think you can go wrong with Logitech at this price.

As you can see there is no shortage of options here. I wanted to list the best gaming headsets in two categories, those under $100 and then those under $100. The cheap gaming headsets under the $50 category are even cheaper with most under $20! It is extraordinary what you can get for your money these days with a little hunting.
All the headsets in each category are pretty similar in terms of audio performance, so my advice is to pick the one whose styling you prefer. We’ve included the key technical specs so you can check those out if you are super serious, but I assume if you are shopping on a budget then you probably don’t expect the full audiophile experience.
These options won’t satisfy hardcore audiophiles, but they do offer great value for money and plenty of good enough audio for hours of gaming fun. They’re all great buying, especially if like me you have a habit of sitting on your headphones and breaking them…better to break a $20 set of headphones rather than a $200 headset.
