Science junkies will fall in love with this anime as it is based on scientific ideas. This Japanese anime series has been a huge success. The first two seasons were a hit. The makers have decided to come out with season 3.
A Peek Into The Storyline
The storyline has been written by Ryo Higaki and season 3 will also be created by him. Kuromukuro, in comparison to other anime shows, is said to have an amusing storyline. The new season would be in line with season 2 and the story would be continued further.
Kennosouke Ouma, a samurai from Sengoku Period is brought to life inside a strange artifact called the cube, his main mission is to capture Efi Dorg, the one who invades Earth. Efi’s main aim is to collect all the pieces of an artifact called ‘The Pivot Stone’. Yukina Shirahane, a student from Tateyama International High school accidentally becomes the navigator of this mission after she meets with an accident. The series takes the viewers on a journey that is filled with supernatural elements and a bit of mystery.
Casting Choices We Can Expect
The characters have been designed by one of the finest creators, Yuriko Ishii. The first 13 episodes were based on the theme ‘Deathtopia’. This sci-fi series is dotted with artifacts, geoframes, vehicles, and infrastructures that influence the lives of the characters. In comparison to other anime series, it has adopted a modern take.
The old season’s lead characters would be featured in Season 3 as well. Kennsouke Ouma voiced by Yohei Azakami, Yukina Shirahane voiced by Mao Ichimichi, Muetta voiced by Aki Toyosaki and Sophie Noel voiced by Reina Ueda would be part of the new season.
There is no confirmation whether the side characters who were part of Tateyama International High School, UN Kurobe Lab, and Shirahane Family will be featured in Season 3.

There has not been any official confirmation regarding the release date of the show even though the show makers have officially announced a season 3. Sources have stated that it might be released between 2024-2022. The starting of the production of Season 3 might give us hints as to when it would be officially released.

Ryo Higaki, one of the writers of the series, has authored a light novel, Kuromukuro: A Ghost at a Speed of 290,000km. It was published in 2018. The novel features the journey of Yukina and Sophie, they both enter the magical world of space and their mission is to find Kennosuke. Seven volumes of the novel were released from June 2018 to November 2018.
The series is now available worldwide on Netflix which has taken the exclusive rights. Initially, it was limited to Japan, even though it was restricted to one country it gained a lot of attention even in the neighboring countries.
